Whiskers and the Magic Cable
Whiskers was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice or napped in sunbeams, Whiskers loved to explore. One rainy afternoon, she discovered something strange behind the television—a thick black cable that seemed to sparkle and shimmer.
Curious, Whiskers batted at the cable with her paw. Suddenly, ZAP! She was pulled right through the wall into a magical world.
Everything glowed orange—the trees, the flowers, even the sky. In the center stood a magnificent pyramid made entirely of crystal oranges. Whiskers had never seen anything so beautiful.
"Welcome, little explorer," said a voice. A tiny fairy with wings like citrus slices floated down. "I'm Sunny. This is the Pyramid of Joy."
"Why is everything orange?" Whiskers asked.
"Orange is the color of happiness!" Sunny explained. "But someone stole our Joy Vitamins—the magical sparkles that make everyone smile. Without them, our world is losing its color."
Whiskers knew she had to help. She followed Sunny inside the pyramid, where walls pulsed with warm light. There they found the problem—a grumpy little goblin sat clutching a jar of glowing golden pills.
"I took them," the goblin sniffled. "I never learned to smile. Nobody ever played with me."
Whiskers understood. Sometimes people did mean things because they felt lonely. She walked over and rubbed her head against the goblin's hand, then did a silly little dance that made her tail wiggle.
The goblin giggled. Then he laughed. As he smiled, his grumpy green skin turned a cheerful orange.
"I'll give them back," he said. "But will you be my friend?"
Whiskers purred. "Always."
When the Joy Vitamins were returned, sparkles rained down like confetti. The whole pyramid glowed brighter than ever. Sunny hugged Whiskers.
"Thank you for teaching us something important," she said. "The magic isn't in vitamins or cables or magic worlds. The real magic is kindness and friendship."
Whiskers traveled back through the cable, returning to her living room. But now, whenever she saw something orange, she smiled—and somehow, she knew her new friend the goblin was smiling too.
