When Stars Walked on Earth

Lily loved lying on the grass at midnight, watching the stars dance. One night, during the Perseid meteor shower, three shooting stars streaked across the sky and landed right behind her old oak tree! Curious, Lily tiptoed closer. From the glowing craters emerged three magnificent creatures made of stardust and moonlight.

The first was a magnificent **bull** with horns that glowed like golden crescent moons. "I am Taurus, Guardian of Courage," he rumbled softly. The second was a wise **bear** whose fur sparkled like a galaxy. "I am Ursa, Keeper of Dreams," she whispered. The third was a playful **dog** with constellations for spots. "I am Sirius, Friend to All!" he yipped excitedly.

"We've come because the Star Bridge between worlds is breaking," explained Ursa. "Only a child's pure heart can mend it." Lily's heart raced as Sirius nudged her hand with his stardust nose. "Will you help us?"

The magical creatures carried Lily up through the clouds to the Star Bridge, where cracks had formed. Some stars had grown dim because children on Earth had stopped believing in magic. Lily knew what to do. She closed her eyes and whispered her greatest dream into the darkness—that every child would see the wonder in ordinary things.

Golden light spread from her words, sealing every crack. The stars shone brighter than ever before! Taurus lowered his proud head. "You have the courage of a thousand warriors." Ursa wrapped her in a stardust hug. "Your dream will ripple across the universe." Sirius licked her cheek, leaving a constellation-shaped freckle.

When Lily woke up in her bed the next morning, she found three new freckles on her hand—one shaped like a bull, one like a bear, and one like a dog. That night, she noticed three extra-bright stars twinkling above her house, winking as if to say: magic is real for those who believe.
