When Lightning Struck the Padel Court

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's cottage, especially the old padel court behind the house. No one had played there in years, but the glass wall still reflected the sunset beautifully.

One stormy evening, her golden retriever Max started barking at the court—unusual for the gentle dog who spent most of his time napping. Then CRACK! A bolt of lightning split the sky, striking the old court directly.

Instead of shattering, the glass wall began to glow like fireflies trapped in crystal. Lily and Max crept closer, mesmerized. The court wasn't destroyed at all—it had transformed into a shimmering portal.

Through the glass appeared a magnificent bear with fur like starlight. He wore a crown of autumn leaves and carried a magical racquet.

"Young one," the bear rumbled kindly, "your courage has opened the gateway to the Moonlight Pool. Only the pure of heart may enter."

He held out his paw. Lily took it, and Max trotted beside them. Together they stepped through the glowing portal into a hidden grotto where a silver pool reflected dancing constellations. The water wasn't just water—it liquid moonlight that made you feel lighter than air.

The bear explained that once every hundred years, lightning opens the path to the healing pool, but only for those who dare to approach. Max dipped his paws in the magical water and started glowing softly. The bear laughed—a sound like gentle thunder.

"Your dog has the heart of a lion, child. Tell me, what do you wish for?"

Lily thought of her grandmother, whose knees ached so badly she couldn't garden anymore.

"Just one bottle of this water," Lily whispered.

The bear smiled and filled a crystal vial. "Kindness chosen for another is the greatest magic of all."

As dawn approached, they stepped back through the portal. The padel court looked ordinary again, but in Lily's pocket lay the glowing vial. The next morning, her grandmother danced around her rose garden, pain-free for the first time in years.

Sometimes now, when lightning storms come, Lily and Max still visit the old court, just in case the bear returns for another magical game under the stars.
