When Lightning Came to Play
Lila loved thunderstorms. While other children hid under blankets, she pressed her nose against the window, watching the sky dance.
One evening, as lightning flashed across the purple clouds, something magical happened. A tiny goldfish with shimmering scales swam through the air outside her window!
"Follow me!" the goldfish bubbled. "The lightning wants to play!"
Lila's eyes widened. Goldfish don't fly! But this was no ordinary fish—its scales glowed like miniature stars.
She slipped outside and discovered she could swim through the air too! The warm wind felt like water around her. Above her, lightning bolts weren't scary at all—they were bright ribbons weaving through the sky, playful and curious.
Suddenly, a giant bull appeared. But instead of being frightening, his fur was made of clouds, and his horns were gentle arcs of silver light. He looked lonely.
"Nobody wants to play with me," the bull rumbled softly. "They think I'm scary because I'm big."
"We'll play with you!" Lila said, swimming closer. The goldfish nodded enthusiastically.
The bull's eyes lit up. "But how?"
Lila remembered her padel racket leaning against the porch wall. She grabbed it and held it up like a magical shield. "We can play lightning tennis!"
The goldfish darted around, collecting tiny lightning sparks in its wake. The bull smiled (which looked like a cloud shifting shape), and gently sent lightning bolts toward Lila's padel. *PING!* Each time she hit the lightning, it burst into colorful butterflies that filled the sky.
They played until the storm drifted away, tired and happy.
"Thank you," the bull whispered. "I've never had friends before."
"Being big doesn't mean you're scary," Lila said, hugging his cloud-soft leg. "It just means you have more love to give."
Now every time storms come, Lila looks for her friends—the lightning dancer, the golden fish, and the cloud bull who taught her that things aren't always what they seem, and kindness can make anyone brave.
