The Zombie Who Wasn't Scary
Lily loved her grandmother's magical garden. Every morning, she would run between the rows of vegetables, feeling the warm sun on her face. Her favorite spot was near the giant papaya tree, where golden fruit hung like little suns. One day, while Lily was running her favorite path, she noticed something strange. A slow-moving figure shuffled between the tomato plants. Its arms reached forward, and it made soft groaning sounds. Lily froze. It looked like a zombie! But this zombie didn't look scary. Its green skin shimmered like spinach leaves in the morning light. 'Hello?' Lily called out softly. The zombie stopped and smiled. It wasn't a monster at all—it was Gram's magical garden helper, Zola! 'I was planting extra vitamin magic in the soil,' Zola said, holding up a handful of glowing green powder. 'This makes the vegetables extra healthy.' Lily's eyes widened. 'That's why Gram's papayas taste so wonderful!' Zola nodded and handed Lily a small papaya. 'Try this one. It has triple the vitamin magic.' Lily took a bite. Sweet, golden juice dripped down her chin, and she felt energy tingling in her toes. 'Wow!' she laughed. 'I feel like I could run forever!' From that day on, Lily wasn't afraid of the shuffling figure in the garden. She learned that sometimes, things that seem scary at first are actually magical helpers in disguise. And every time she bit into a papaya, she remembered Zola's secret: the best magic grows from friendship, not fear.
