The Zombie Who Wasn't Scary
In the land of Whispering Woods, where trees hummed gentle lullabies, lived a zombie named Zeb. But Zeb wasn't like the zombies in scary stories. His green skin sparkled like emeralds in sunlight, and instead of groaning "brains," he loved eating buttered toast and strawberry jam.
Zeb's most special feature was his bright purple hair, which grew in wild, bouncy curls that changed color with his mood. When he was happy, his hair shimmered like grape soda bubbles. When he was sad, it turned the softest blue, like a cloudy sky.
One day, while Zeb was collecting shiny pebbles by the stream, he noticed something strange. A thick silver cable stretched across the forest floor, glowing with tiny twinkling lights. He'd never seen anything like it!
Curious, Zeb followed the cable through the woods, past the singing flowers and the giggling brook. The cable led him to a small cottage where a girl named Lily lived. Lily had discovered the magical cable while playing in her garden and had been sending her drawings through it, hoping someone would see them.
When Zeb peered through the window, Lily gasped. But instead of running away, she smiled. "Are you the one who's been sending back the pretty pictures?"
Zeb nodded shyly. His purple hair turned pink with shyness. He showed her how his hair could create beautiful drawings just by thinking about them. Lily clapped with delight.
"Let's be friends!" she said, offering him a cookie. Zeb took it happily, his hair turning golden yellow with joy.
Every day after that, Zeb and Lily shared adventures through the magic cable. She taught him about the human world, and he showed her the secrets of Whispering Woods. They learned that friendship doesn't care what you look like—even if you have green skin and purple hair that changes color.
The other creatures in the woods saw how kind Zeb was, and soon they weren't afraid anymore. The zombie who wasn't scary had found something even better than brains: a true friend who accepted him exactly as he was.
And that's how Zeb learned that the best magic of all isn't in cables or colorful hair—it's in opening your heart to someone different from yourself.
