The Zombie Who Saved the Stars

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house at dusk, when fireflies blinked like tiny lanterns. One evening, she followed a sparkly path to a hidden pool she'd never seen before. The water shimmered like liquid silver, reflecting the first stars of evening.

Suddenly, a green figure stumbled out from behind an old oak tree. Lily gasped—it was a zombie! But instead of feeling scared, she noticed his kind eyes and the way he carefully cradled something in his hands.

"Please don't run," the zombie said softly. "I'm not scary. I'm just lonely."

Lily stepped closer. "I'm Lily. What's your name?"

"Zed," he replied, opening his hands to reveal a tiny, glowing star that had fallen from the sky. "I caught it before it hit the ground. But I don't know how to put it back."

Just then, a massive bull emerged from the trees. His horns were shaped like crescent moons, and his coat sparkled with constellations. Lily wanted to run, but Zed stood protectively in front of her.

"Don't be afraid," the bull spoke in a deep, gentle voice. "I am Orion, guardian of the star pool. The fallen star needs to return home before midnight, or all the stars will fade forever."

The pool began to glow brighter as Orion explained. "Only the pure light of true friendship can send the star back to the sky."

Lily looked at Zed, then at the bull, and finally at the magical pool. "We can do it together!"

Zed nodded, and together they approached the water's edge. As their fingers touched the surface, brilliant lightning crackled across the pool—harmless and beautiful, like nature's fireworks. The tiny star in Zed's hands began to rise, floating higher and higher until it rejoined its celestial family.

More lightning danced across the water as the pool's magic strengthened all the stars above. Orion bowed his head respectfully. "You have proven that friendship comes in all forms—whether you're human, zombie, or guardian bull. The sky will never forget your kindness."

From that night on, Lily and Zed visited the star pool together, and Orion taught them that real friends look past appearances to see the heart within. And sometimes, the most unexpected friendships create the brightest magic of all.
