The Zombie Who Played Baseball

Leo hated taking his vitamin every morning. 'Yuck!' he'd say, pushing away the orange tablet. 'I don't need vitamins. I need to practice baseball!'

That night, Leo heard a tap-tap-tapping at his window. A small, green figure stood there—a zombie toy that had come to life! But this zombie didn't want brains. It wanted to play.

'I'm Zim,' said the zombie. 'I watched you play baseball today. You dropped the ball because your hands were shaking.'

Leo blushed. 'I was nervous.'

Zim smiled. 'My creator gave me magic vitamin powder. One taste, and you'll feel brave as a superhero!'

Leo's eyes widened. 'Really?'

'But first,' Zim said, 'you must promise to take your real vitamins every morning. Strong bodies make strong baseball players!'

Leo nodded. He took Zim's magic powder (which tasted like strawberry sunshine). Suddenly, he felt confident! His hands stopped shaking.

They played catch all night under the moon. Zim taught Leo how to catch fly balls and swing with power. When the sun came up, Zim faded back into a toy.

From then on, Leo took his vitamins every morning without complaint. And at every baseball game, he kept Zim the zombie in his pocket—a reminder that even the smallest friends can help you do big things.

The other players noticed something different about Leo. 'You're amazing now!' they said.

Leo just smiled and patted his pocket. 'I have a secret friend,' he whispered.

And every night, Zim would come alive, and they'd play baseball until dawn—the best team in the whole wide world.
