The Zombie Who Needed a Friend
Leo lived on an island where magic grew wild. One evening, his grandmother told him about the creature living in the forbidden grove—a **zombie** who shuffled alone under the moonlight.
"He's not scary," she whispered. "Just lonely."
The next morning, Leo crept through the jungle with his cat, Mango. Mango's golden fur gleamed as she pounced ahead, her tail twitching with adventure.
The forbidden grove was beautiful. Towering **palm** trees swayed in the breeze, their fronds whispering secrets. And there, sitting in the shade, was the zombie.
Leo's heart pounded. But the creature didn't look scary at all. He looked sad. His skin was pale as moonlight, his eyes gentle as starlight.
Mango, brave little cat, marched right up to him and began rubbing against his leg, purring loudly. The zombie's eyes widened with wonder.
From his pocket, Leo pulled something he'd brought—a sweet, golden **papaya**, picked fresh that morning. He held it out.
The zombie took it carefully. His movements were slow but graceful. He took a bite, and his face lit up with joy.
"Papaya," he whispered, his voice rustling like autumn leaves. "Thank you."
Suddenly, a magnificent **bull** with golden horns stepped from the trees. He looked at the zombie with wise, knowing eyes.
"This is Bruno," the zombie said, petting the bull's massive shoulder. "He's my friend. But he can't talk like you."
Leo realized the truth. The zombie wasn't cursed or scary. He was just a magical being who had been forgotten. All this time, he'd had Bruno, but he'd needed someone who could truly understand him.
Leo sat down. Mango curled up in the zombie's lap. Together, they shared the papaya under the palms, while Bruno kept watch like a gentle guardian.
"We'll come back every day," Leo promised.
The zombie's smile was the most beautiful thing Leo had ever seen—full of hope and belonging.
That day, Leo learned that sometimes the scariest stories are just the loneliest ones waiting for someone brave enough to discover the truth.
