The Zombie Who Loved to Swim

Leo was supposed to be a scary zombie. At least, that's what all the villagers in Misty Creek said. But Leo had a secret that no one knew—he loved to swim.

Every full moon, when the village was asleep, Leo would tiptoe past the cobblestone houses. His messy green hair would bounce with each step, and his arms would swing loosely at his sides. He wasn't going to scare anyone. He was heading to the crystal pool behind the old waterfall.

The pool was magical. Its water sparkled like liquid diamonds, and it smelled like vanilla and sunshine. Leo would slide into the cool water, and suddenly he didn't feel like a clumsy zombie anymore. He felt graceful, light, and free.

One night, a little girl named Mia followed him. She had seen Leo walking through the village and was curious. When she found him at the pool, she gasped.

"You're the zombie! Everyone says you're scary!"

Leo's shoulders drooped. "I know. But look—I'm not scary when I swim. Watch."

He dove into the pool, creating a splash that looked like a rainbow. Mia's eyes widened. Leo wasn't clumsy at all! He flipped and spun, making patterns in the water that glowed like fireflies.

"That's amazing!" Mia clapped. "Will you teach me?"

Leo's green hair dripped with sparkly water as he smiled—a real smile. "Nobody's ever wanted me to teach them anything."

"Well, I do," said Mia, jumping in beside him.

They swam together until dawn, laughing and splashing. When Mia returned to the village, she told everyone what she'd learned. At first, nobody believed her. But soon, other children started visiting the pool at night.

Leo became the village's favorite swimming teacher. The villagers learned that zombies aren't always scary—sometimes, they just need someone to see them for who they really are.

And Leo? He finally had friends who didn't care about his green hair or his zombie reputation. They just loved how he could make the water dance.
