The Zombie Who Loved to Splash

In a sleepy little town called Willowbrook, there lived a zombie named Zog. But Zog wasn't like the zombies in scary movies. He didn't want brains. He wanted friends! Unfortunately, everyone ran away when they saw his green skin and patchy clothes. Zog spent most days sitting alone under his favorite willow tree, watching children play.

One hot summer afternoon, Zog heard something magical. Laughter! Splashing! Joy! He crept closer to the town's swimming pool, peeking through the fence. Children were jumping into the crystal blue water, playing and having fun. Zog's heart danced. He loved water! Back in his old village, before he became a zombie, he had been the best swimmer.

Suddenly, a girl named Lily spotted him. Instead of running away, she waved. "Hey! You look lonely. Want to play?" Zog was so surprised he almost fell over. The other children gathered around, curious instead of scared.

"We're playing padel," explained a boy named Max, holding a racket. "It's like tennis, but more fun! Want to learn?" Zog nodded eagerly. For the first time since becoming a zombie, someone wanted to PLAY with him!

Lily had an even better idea. "First, let's teach Zog to swim! Everyone deserves to feel the magic of water." The children showed Zog how to kick his legs and blow bubbles. When he finally jumped into the pool, something amazing happened. The water sparkled with tiny stars, and Zog's green skin shimmered like emeralds.

"You're not a zombie," gasped Lily. "You're a Water Sprite! The magic of friendship broke the spell!" Zog looked at his hands. They weren't green and patchy anymore. They were glowing with blue light!

The whole summer, Zog (now called Zog the Water Sprite) spent every day swimming and playing padel with his new friends. The town learned an important lesson: Sometimes, the scariest-looking creatures just need someone to see who they truly are inside.

And every night, when the pool lights turned on, tiny stars still danced across the water, reminding everyone in Willowbrook that kindness is the most powerful magic of all.
