The Zombie Who Loved to Play
In the sleepy town of Willow Creek, something strange happened every full moon. A little zombie named Zim would climb out of his cozy grave—not to scare anyone, but to play!
Zim wasn't like other zombies. He didn't want brains. He wanted friendship and fun!
One magical night, Zim heard a delightful *thwack-thwack-thwack* coming from the park. He shuffled toward the sound, his greenish skin glowing softly in the moonlight.
There, under the stars, a golden retriever named Buster was playing padel with his best friend, a brave little girl named Lily. The glass-walled court sparkled like crystal.
"Want to play?" Lily asked, not scared at all. She had imagination as big as the sky!
Zim's eyes lit up. His floppy ears wiggled with joy. But he had no racquet.
Buster barked happily and nudged an old baseball bat toward Zim. It had belonged to Lily's grandpa.
"Perfect!" Lily cheered.
They played the most wonderful game ever. Zim was amazing! Being a zombie made him super flexible. He stretched his arms in impossible ways to hit the ball. *WOOSH!* *SMACK!* *BOUNCE!*
When Zim got tired, Lily had an idea. She led them to her house, where her pet goldfish Finneagan swam in his glowing aquarium.
"Finneagan loves watching sports," Lily said. The fish did a happy flip!
Suddenly, Zim looked sad. His gray face drooped. "I have to go back before sunrise. My friends will miss me."
"Where do you live?" Lily asked bravely.
"The Old Oak Cemetery," Zim whispered. "But nobody visits us anymore. We just want someone to notice we're here."
Lily's heart filled with compassion. That's when she learned something important: everyone deserves friendship, even if they're different.
"We'll visit every week!" Lily promised. "We can play padel together in the moonlight."
From then on, every full moon, Lily, Buster, Zim, and even Finneagan (who came in his special travel bowl) played together. The other zombies joined too, and they learned that kindness could bring anyone together—no matter how different they might seem.
And sometimes, if you look closely at the Old Oak Cemetery, you might see them playing, laughing under the stars, having the most wonderful adventures anyone could ever imagine.
