The Zombie Who Loved to Play

Lily was bored. Rain drummed against her window as she scrolled through her mom's old iPhone, looking for something fun to do. Suddenly, a strange app she'd never seen before began to glow. A message appeared: "Want to play?"

Curious, Lily tapped yes. The screen swirled with sparkles, and suddenly she wasn't in her room anymore. She stood on soft green grass under enormous palm trees that stretched their leaves like welcoming arms.

"You came!" said a cheerful voice.

Lily turned and gasped. Standing there was... a zombie! But not a scary one. This zombie had bright purple skin, a friendly smile, and wore a colorful bandana.

"I'm Zambi," he said. "Don't worry – I'm not like those zombies in movies. I just LOVE to play!"

Before Lily could respond, a huge brown bear shuffled out from behind a palm tree. "This is Bruno," Zambi said. "He's my best friend."

Bruno waved a massive paw. "Want to play padel with us? It's the best game ever!"

Lily's eyes widened. "You know padel?"

"Of course!" Zambi handed her a racket. "In our world, padel isn't just a game – it's magic! Every time you hit the ball, something wonderful happens."

They played under the palm trees, and Zambi was right! When Lily hit the ball, flowers bloomed. When Bruno returned a shot, butterflies filled the air. When Zambi scored, sparkles rained down like tiny stars.

"This is amazing!" Lily laughed, spinning around with her racket held high.

Zambi smiled. "You know, everyone in my world thought zombies were supposed to be scary and grumpy. But I proved them wrong. I chose joy instead."

Bruno nodded. "And everyone said bears were fierce and lone creatures. But I chose friendship."

Lily looked at the iPhone still in her hand, which now showed a beautiful photo of the three of them playing together. "I was so bored at home, but I chose to be curious."

The palm trees seemed to nod their approval.

"That's the secret," Zambi said. "We become what we choose. Every single day."

Too soon, it was time for Lily to return home. But as she stepped back through the glowing portal, she knew something wonderful: whenever she felt bored or lonely, she could choose curiosity. And maybe, just maybe, she'd find her way back to her magical friends for another game of padel under the palm trees.

That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile, dreaming of zombies who loved to play and bears who were best friends, knowing the most magical adventures begin when you choose to see things differently.
