The Zombie Who Loved to Play

Lily and Max were best friends who loved adventures. One sunny afternoon, they were running through the park when they spotted something strange near the old swimming pool.

A green figure stood by the pool, holding a padel racket. It looked like a zombie, but not the scary kind from movies. This zombie had a friendly smile and bright orange hair tied in rainbow ribbons.

"Hello!" called the zombie, waving excitedly. "I'm Zara! I'm not scary at all. I just love playing padel!"

Lily and Max exchanged surprised looks. They had never met a zombie who played sports!

"Want to play?" Zara asked, bouncing a ball happily. "I built a special pyramid of balls over there. We can take turns hitting them into the pool!"

The children looked where Zara pointed. Sure enough, a neat pyramid of colorful balls sat on the grass. Each ball sparkled in the sunlight like little jewels.

"But zombies don't play games," Max said curiously.

Zara laughed, a sound like musical wind chimes. "That's what everyone thinks! But inside, I'm just a magical girl who loves fun. My green skin? It's from eating too many magical gummy worms from the Enchanted Forest!"

Lily giggled. "That's the silliest thing I've ever heard!"

"It's true!" Zara winked. "Want to see my special trick?"

Zara closed her eyes and whispered magic words. Suddenly, the pyramid of balls began to glow. They floated into the air and danced around them like tiny planets!

"Whoa!" Max and Lily gasped together.

"That's not all," Zara said. She swung her padel racket gently, and each ball she hit turned into a splash of golden light before landing softly in the pool with happy splashes.

"Your turn!" Zara handed them extra rackets. "Make a wish before you hit!"

Lily closed her eyes, made a wish, and swung her racket. Her ball became a beautiful butterfly that flew to the flowers. Max made his wish, and his ball turned into a mini rocket that zoomed around the pool!

"This is the best day ever!" Lily exclaimed.

Zara smiled warmly. "You know, everyone thought I was scary just because I look different. But you gave me a chance. That's the real magic - friendship!"

The three friends played until sunset, creating magic with every hit. And they learned that sometimes, the most wonderful friends come from the most unexpected places.
