The Zombie Who Loved to Moonlight Swim

Leo loved visiting his grandmother's beach house. Every morning, he'd run across the warm sand to his favorite spot—a giant palm tree that leaned toward the ocean like it was whispering secrets to the waves.

One evening, Leo couldn't sleep. The moon was full and silver, painting the ocean in light. He crept outside and saw something amazing—someone was swimming in the surf!

Leo hid behind the palm tree and peeked out. The swimmer emerged from the water, dripping and glowing softly in the moonlight. It was green, with stitching down its chest and buttons for eyes. A zombie! But not a scary one—this zombie had a flower behind its ear and a happy smile.

"Are you... real?" Leo whispered.

The zombie nodded. "As real as moonbeams and seashells. I'm Zimby!"

Zimby explained that he was made from magic by the ocean itself. Every full moon, he came alive to go swimming and dance in the waves. "But I'm lonely," Zimby said sadly. "Everyone runs away when they see me."

Leo stepped out from behind the palm tree. "I won't run away. That sounds wonderful! Can I swim too?"

Zimby's button eyes sparkled. "Really?"

Together, they splashed in the warm water, racing the gentle waves and floating on their backs to look at the stars. Zimby taught Leo the Zombie Dance—a wiggly, jiggly celebration of joy.

"Will you come back next month?" Leo asked.

"Only if you promise to dance with me," Zimby said.

Leo promised with his whole heart.

That night, Leo learned something magical: sometimes the things that seem different or strange are actually the most wonderful friends of all. And under the silver moon, by the whispering palm tree, a boy and a zombie became the best of friends—swimming, dancing, and celebrating joy together.

Now Leo saves his adventures with Zimby in a special shell. Because true magic, he discovered, isn't just about zombies coming to life—it's about friendship blooming in unexpected places.
