The Zombie Who Loved Swimming
Leo loved swimming more than anything in the world. Every summer day, he'd jump into the sparkling blue lake behind his house, diving deep until his toes touched the soft, sandy bottom.
One morning, Leo noticed something strange. A massive black bull stood at the edge of the water, looking nervous. The bull had come all the way from Farmer Brown's field, but he wouldn't step in.
"Are you scared?" Leo asked, swimming over. The bull nodded his big head sadly. "I've never tried swimming before. What if I sink?"
Just then, bubbles rose from the deep water. Up floated the strangest creature Leo had ever seen – a green, slimy being with floppy seaweed hair and wobbly arms.
"I'm Marvin!" the creature said. "I'm a zombie, but not the scary kind. I'm a water zombie! I live down here and help nervous swimmers."
Leo's eyes went wide. "A real zombie?"
Marvin giggled, blowing more bubbles. "The friendliest kind! Watch this."
The zombie splashed and played, showing the bull that water was fun. "If I can swim, anyone can! I'm all wobbly and slow."
The bull took one step, then two. Soon, he was splashing happily, Marvin and Leo cheering beside him.
"See?" said Marvin. "Being brave doesn't mean you're not scared. It means trying anyway. And sometimes, you make the best friends when you're brave together."
That summer, the three friends swam every day – the boy who loved water, the bull who learned to be brave, and the zombie who taught them that being different is what makes you special.
And every time Leo sees bubbles rising from the deep, he knows Marvin is there, ready to help another friend find their courage.
