The Zombie Who Loved Sunshine
In the tiny town of Pebblebrook, there lived a girl named Mia who had the most unusual garden. While other kids grew flowers and tomatoes, Mia grew things that shimmered and sparkled.
One morning, Mia noticed something strange. Her prize **spinach** plants were glowing a soft, sunny **orange** color! The leaves shimmered like tiny stars, and when she touched them, they felt warm, like a summer hug.
"That's peculiar," Mia whispered, leaning closer.
Suddenly, she heard a rustling sound from behind the old oak tree. Out stumbled a creature — but not a scary one. It was a little green person with patchy overalls and one crooked tooth.
"A **zombie**!" Mia gasped, but she didn't run away.
The zombie looked sad. His name was Zeb, and he explained that he wasn't scary at all. He was a Garden Guardian, magical beings who helped plants grow. But Zeb had lost his magic because he hadn't eaten any vegetables in hundreds of years.
"I tried," Zeb sniffled. "But everything tastes like old socks to me. My magic has gone all sleepy."
Mia looked at her glowing orange spinach. An idea bloomed in her mind like a spring flower.
"Try this!" she said, offering him a bright orange leaf.
Zeb took a tiny bite. His eyes grew wide. "It tastes like sunshine and laughter!" As he ate more of the magical spinach, something amazing happened. Zeb's green skin began to glow, his straightened up, and flowers started blooming wherever he walked.
"My magic!" Zeb cheered. "You saved me, Mia!"
From that day on, Mia and Zeb became best friends. Zeb helped her garden grow the most magnificent vegetables in all of Pebblebrook — pumpkins the size of beach balls, carrots that glowed pink, and tomatoes that tasted like strawberry cake.
And the moral? Sometimes the things that seem scary or strange are just lonely, waiting for someone kind enough to see the magic inside them.
Now every full moon, you can see Mia and Zeb dancing in the garden, planting seeds of wonder and friendship wherever they go.
