The Zombie Who Loved Rainbows

Lily made a face at her dinner. "Spinach again?" She poked at the green leaves on her plate. But that night, she discovered something magical in her garden – glowing spinach that shimmered like tiny stars!

Curious, Lily touched a leaf. Zap! Her brown hair suddenly turned bright green and floated around her head as if she were underwater. She giggled, spinning in circles until her hair rippled like seaweed in an ocean breeze.

Suddenly, the sky darkened. Lightning flashed across the clouds, and rain poured down. Lily ran to the garden to protect her magical spinach. There, standing among the plants, was a zombie!

But this zombie wasn't scary at all. It was made entirely of glowing green spinach leaves, with flowers for eyes and a smile made of cherry tomatoes. "Hello," it said softly. "I'm Sprout. The lightning magic brought me to life."

Lily wasn't afraid. "I'm Lily! Your hair looks like mine!"

Sprout's leafy head tilted. "You're not scared?"

"Nope," Lily smiled. "You seem nice. Want to see something cool?"

She showed Sprout how to splash in puddles, and they danced together in the rain, their green hair flowing like magical water. When the storm passed, a rainbow appeared.

"It's beautiful," Sprout whispered. "I never knew the world could be so colorful."

Lily learned that sometimes the scariest things turn out to be the best friends. And now? She loves spinach – especially the magical kind that brings unexpected friendships to life.
