The Zombie Who Loved Rainbows

Lily had the most curious **hair** in all of Willow Creek. It curled and bounced like golden springs, and her grandmother always said it caught magic from the air. But Lily didn't feel magical today. She was **running** through the Whispering Woods, her heart pounding, because she'd heard the strangest thing.

Deep in the forest lived a creature everyone called the Zombie. The older children said it was scary and slow, with messy hair and crooked teeth. They said it lived near the sparkling **water**fall, and nobody ever went there.

But Lily was brave. She wanted to see for herself.

The woods were dappled with sunlight. Birds sang happy songs, and flowers nodded in the gentle breeze. When Lily reached the waterfall, she gasped. It was more beautiful than she'd imagined – **water** cascaded down rocks like liquid diamonds, creating rainbows in the mist.

And there, sitting on a mossy stone, was the Zombie.

Lily hid behind a tree and watched. The creature wasn't scary at all. It had wild, tangled **hair** decorated with flowers and ribbons. It was carefully placing colorful stones in a spiral pattern, humming softly to itself.

"Hello?" Lily called out, stepping from behind the tree.

The Zombie jumped! Its name was Zola, and it explained that everyone called her a Zombie because she moved slowly and loved to sleep in the sunshine. "But I'm not scary," Zola said shyly. "I just like beautiful things."

Zola showed Lily her collection – shiny rocks, perfect feathers, and jars filled with fireflies. "I'm making a fairy garden," she explained. "For the magical creatures who live here."

Lily smiled. "Can I help?"

Together, they worked all afternoon. Lily gathered wildflowers while Zola arranged them in rainbow patterns. They splashed in the **water**, laughing as droplets sparkled around them like tiny stars.

When Lily finally started **running** home, she realized something important: sometimes, the things we fear are actually friends we just haven't met yet. And Zola's messy **hair**? It was the most magical thing of all – it had flowers growing in it!

From that day on, Lily visited Zola every week. They built the most beautiful fairy garden in all the woods, and the other children soon learned that the Zombie wasn't scary at all. She was just a friend who loved slowly and lived beautifully.
