The Zombie Who Loved Papayas
In the sunny seaside town of Seaview, three best friends named Mia, Leo, and Sam loved adventures more than anything in the world. One hot afternoon, while searching for seashells behind the old padel court, they discovered something impossible.
An orange gate appeared where no gate had been before. It shimmered like a sunset, covered in spirals that seemed to dance when you looked at them.
"Should we open it?" asked Mia, her eyes wide with wonder.
"Of course!" said Leo, always the bravest.
Inside was the most magical swimming pool they had ever seen. The water sparkled like diamonds, and floating in it were hundreds of papayas, all glowing with a soft golden light. The sweet tropical scent filled the air, making their mouths water.
Just then, something green and bumpy emerged from the water. The friends gasped and stepped back. It looked like a zombie!
"Please don't be scared," the creature said in a gentle, bubbly voice. "I'm Zara. I know I look funny, but I'm not scary. I'm the guardian of the Papaya Pool."
Zara explained that she had once been an ordinary gardener until she discovered this magical place. The pool grew enchanted papayas that could make anyone who ate them feel happy for a whole week. But the pool needed magical orange stones from the beach to keep its magic alive.
"I can't leave the water," Zara said sadly. "Will you help me?"
The three friends looked at each other and nodded. Together they searched the sandy beach, crawling under piers and peeking behind rocks. They found twelve orange stones that glowed when Zara touched them.
When they placed the stones around the pool's edge, the water began to bubble and sparkle. More papayas appeared, floating peacefully like little golden boats.
"Thank you," Zara smiled, handing each friend a magical papaya. "You've shown that true friends help those who seem different. That's the real magic—kindness."
That summer, Mia, Leo, and Sam visited Zara every day. They learned that bravery wasn't about being unafraid; it was about being kind even when you were scared. And whenever they saw someone who looked different, they remembered Zara and always said hello first.
