The Zombie Who Loved Padel

In the sleepy town of Moonbeam Valley, children knew to stay indoors when lightning flashed across the purple sky. That's when Zippy would wake up.

Zippy was a zombie, but not the scary kind. He was a Sleepwalking Wonder, a magical creature who only came alive during storms. His green skin shimmered like emeralds, and his hair stood straight up, full of static electricity.

One rainy evening, young Luna spotted Zippy through her window. He was holding something strange—a padel racquet!

"Hello?" Luna called out, opening her window just a crack.

Zippy's eyes popped open. "Oh! A friend!"

Luna had never seen a zombie before, especially one who carried sports equipment. "Do you... play padel?"

"Every stormy night!" Zippy grinned. "But I need someone to play with. Everyone's always hiding inside."

Luna's eyes lit up. "I've been learning padel! Wait here!"

She tiptoed downstairs and grabbed her racquet from the closet. Her mother had packed her a healthy snack earlier—fresh spinach leaves wrapped in a leaf. Luna grabbed it too.

"What's that?" Zippy asked when she returned.

"Spinach," Luna whispered. "Want some? It gives you energy!"

Zippy tried a piece. His eyes widened. "It tastes like rainbows!"

They played padel in the moonlit meadow while lightning painted the sky. Every time Zippy hit the ball, it left a trail of sparkles. Luna had never had so much fun!

"Why are you a zombie anyway?" Luna asked between games.

Zippy sighed. "I was once a regular boy named Max. I loved playing outside so much that a magical storm turned me into a Sleepwalking Wonder. Now I can only play when it rains."

Luna thought hard. "What if we made you feel sunshine even without the sun?"

She handed him more spinach. "This grew in sunshine!"

Zippy ate it—and suddenly, his green skin turned pink! The clouds parted, and stars appeared.

"Luna," Zippy gasped, "you're my best friend!"

From that night on, Zippy didn't need storms anymore. He learned that friendship, like spinach, fills you with sunshine from the inside out.

And every clear night, Luna and Zippy played padel under the stars, proving that the best magic of all is the power of friendship.
