The Zombie Who Loved Orange Suns - Every Minute a Story

Leo loved **running** through the backyard at sunset, when the sky turned the color of his favorite **orange** popsicles. One evening, he spotted something strange behind the big **palm** tree that swayed in the warm breeze.

It looked like a zombie, but not the scary kind from video games. This zombie was made entirely of fallen leaves, with twig fingers and a mossy head. Leo approached slowly, his heart beating fast.

"Hello?" he whispered.

The leaf zombie's head popped up. It wasn't scary at all—it had friendly acorn eyes and a smile made of smooth stones. "I'm Zimby," it crackled in a voice like autumn leaves. "I'm trying to catch the last orange sunbeam before it disappears!"

Zimby pointed to a thick black **cable** stretching across the grass. "I found this cable, and I think it leads to where the sunbeams go to sleep. Will you help me pull it?"

Leo grabbed the cable with Zimby's leafy hand, and together they tugged. The cable glowed golden, revealing a hidden ladder climbing straight up into the clouds.

"Climb with me!" Zimby called, already scrambling up with surprising grace.

Leo hesitated only a moment before following. Up and up they climbed, past birds and airplanes, until they reached a magical garden where sunbeams grew like flowers. Zimby collected three glowing orange sunbeams into a special pouch.

"These are for the children who are afraid of the dark," Zimby explained. "Every night, I deliver sunbeam dreams to their windows."

Leo's eyes widened. "You're not a zombie. You're a guardian!"

"I'm whatever children need me to be," Zimby winked.

They slid down the cable together, laughing all the way to the ground. As the first stars appeared, Zimby handed Leo a small orange sunbeam. "For being brave enough to see past appearances."

That night, Leo placed the sunbeam on his windowsill. It glowed softly like a nightlight, and he dreamed of leafy friends and magical adventures. Sometimes, the scariest things turn out to be the most wonderful friends—if you're brave enough to say hello.
