The Zombie Who Loved Green Things
Lily loved running through her grandmother's garden, especially on sunny afternoons. The garden was magical, with a towering palm tree that seemed to touch the sky and mysterious plants growing everywhere.
One day, while playing hide-and-seek, Lily noticed something strange behind the palm tree. A slow-moving figure shuffled out from the shadows. It had green skin, messy hair, and moved like a zombie from her storybooks!
Lily almost screamed, but then she noticed the creature was holding something carefully in its hands - a fresh, leafy bunch of spinach.
"Are you... going to eat me?" Lily asked, trembling.
The zombie shook its head vigorously. "No, no! I'm Zombi. I love vegetables, especially spinach! It gives me magic energy."
Lily gasped. "You can talk?"
"When I eat spinach, yes!" Zombi smiled, revealing surprisingly friendly teeth. "I'm actually a garden guardian. I protect special plants."
Lily noticed something sparkling around Zombi's neck - a golden cable connecting to a small flower. "What's that?"
"This magic cable keeps me connected to the garden's heart," Zombi explained. "But I've been so weak lately. The spinach patch was almost dying until your grandmother fixed it."
Lily's eyes widened. "That's why Grandma's always in the garden! She's helping you!"
From that day on, Lily loved visiting Zombi. She learned that even things that seem scary at first might just be lonely friends waiting for someone to understand them. Together, they discovered that true friendship blooms in the most unexpected places - just like grandmother's magical spinach patch.
And whenever Zombi felt tired, Lily would run to bring him fresh spinach, watching his eyes light up with green magic as he transformed from a shuffling zombie into a lively garden guardian, ready for another adventure.
