The Zombie Who Loved Green
In the magical garden of Willow Creek, there lived a most unusual zombie named Zephyr. Unlike other zombies who might stomp and groan, Zephyr was gentle and kind. He had messy green hair that looked like spinach leaves, which he found quite funny.
Every day, Zephyr tended to his magical garden where the spinach grew bigger and brighter than anywhere else. The spinach leaves sparkled with tiny stars, and when you ate them, you could float three inches off the ground!
One sunny morning, a little girl named Lily wandered into Zephyr's garden. She had lost her favorite hair ribbon and was feeling sad. When she saw Zephyr, she didn't scream or run away. Instead, she watched him carefully water his special spinach plants.
"Your hair looks like spinach," Lily said with a giggle.
Zephyr smiled, showing his not-so-scary teeth. "That's because it IS magic spinach! Would you like to try some?"
He handed her a sparkling spinach leaf. As soon as Lily took a bite, she began to float gently upward, just like a balloon. She laughed with delight as her hair ribbon fluttered down from a tree branch where it had been hiding.
"Thank you, Zephyr!" she called, floating back down. "You're the nicest zombie I've ever met."
From that day on, Lily visited Zephyr every afternoon. They planted more magic spinach together, and soon other children from Willow Creek came to meet the gentle zombie with the spinach hair. Zephyr learned that being different was what made him special, and Lily discovered that the best friends sometimes come in the most surprising packages.
And whenever anyone ate Zephyr's magical spinach, they didn't just float—they also learned that kindness is the most powerful magic of all.
