The Zombie Who Loved Goldfish

In a sunny backyard lived a small goldfish named Sparkle. She swam in her crystal bowl, dreaming of adventures beyond the glass walls. Every morning, a little girl named Lily would feed her and tell her stories about the magical world outside.

One day, a clumsy zombie named Zippy stumbled into the yard. Zippy wasn't scary at all — he was a friendly zombie who loved beautiful things. His green skin was patchy with moss, and his stitches were made of colorful embroidery thread that his grandmother had put there when she made him come to life.

Zippy's favorite spot was under the tall palm tree that swayed in the breeze. Its long leaves danced like green ribbons, and coconuts hung like little brown treasures. But Zippy was lonely. The other zombies were too busy stumbling around to notice the beautiful things in the world.

"Hello, little fish," Zippy said softly, peering into Sparkle's bowl. "You're so shiny and bright. I wish I could swim like you."

Sparkle swam to the surface and blew bubbles. "Hello! My name is Sparkle. What's yours?"

"I'm Zippy," the zombie smiled, showing his crooked teeth. "I'm different from other zombies. I like pretty things, not brains."

Every day, Zippy visited Sparkle. He would sit under the palm tree and tell her stories about the forest, the ocean he'd seen from far away, and the stars that twinkled at night. Sparkle told him about her dreams of seeing the world beyond her bowl.

One afternoon, a big storm knocked over Sparkle's bowl! Water splashed everywhere, and Sparkle flopped on the ground, gasping for air.

"Oh no!" cried Zippy. He quickly scooped up Sparkle in his mossy hands and ran to the pond behind the palm tree. He gently placed her into the cool, clear water.

Sparkle swam happily, her scales glittering like tiny diamonds. "Thank you, Zippy! You saved me!"

"Friends help friends," Zippy said, scratching his head. "Even if they're zombies and fish."

From that day on, Zippy brought Sparkle treats from the pond — colorful pebbles, shiny shells, and sometimes even water lilies. And Sparkle showed Zippy that being different was what made him special.

The other zombies soon noticed how happy Zippy was. They started visiting the palm tree too, learning to appreciate beauty instead of just stumbling around. Even the zombie who was the grumpiest learned to love watching the goldfish swim.

And every night, under the moonlit palm tree, Zippy and Sparkle would sit together, the little goldfish who dreamed big and the zombie who learned that the best adventures are the ones you share with friends.
