The Zombie Who Loved Goldfish

Lily's dog, Buster, barked at something strange in the garden. It wasn't a squirrel. It wasn't a cat. It was a zombie!

But this zombie was different. His name was Zed, and he shuffled through the flowers with a sad, green face. Buster stopped barking and tilted his head. Zed wasn't scary—he was lonely.

"I'm looking for my friend," Zed said in a soft, rumbly voice. "Have you seen a goldfish named Glitter?"

Lily's eyes widened. "Glitter lives in my bowl inside! But she's not just any goldfish. She's magical."

Zed's eyes lit up. "Glitter was my friend before I became a zombie. We lived by the palm tree at the magical pond. One day, a wizard cast a spell on me, and I had to leave. I've been searching for her ever since."

Lily opened her palm and showed Zed a shiny scale. "Glitter gave this to me. She said it would help me find my way if I ever got lost."

Zed gasped. "That's from Glitter! She's still waiting for me by the palm tree!"

Lily, Buster, and Zed rushed to the magical pond. There, shimmering under the moonlight, was Glitter the goldfish, swimming in circles and blowing bubbles that spelled Z-E-D.

"Zed!" Glitter bubbled. "I knew you'd come back!"

When Zed reached into the water, something amazing happened. The zombie spell melted away like ice cream on a sunny day. Zed became a real boy again!

"Thank you, Lily and Buster," Zed cheered. "You taught me that true friendship never dies, even when you're a zombie."

From that night on, Lily, Buster, Zed, and Glitter had adventures every full moon. And sometimes, when Lily looked at the palm tree, she saw magical fish scales sparkle in the branches, reminding her that kindness can break any spell.

Buster would always bark happily when he saw Zed, and Zed would laugh and give him a treat. Because the best adventures are the ones you share with friends—whether they have fur, fins, or green skin.
