The Zombie Who Loved Gardens
In the sleepy town of Willow Creek, there lived a zombie named Zeb. But Zeb wasn't like other zombies. He didn't want to brains or wander around groaning. What Zeb loved most was gardening.
Every night, when the moon rose high, Zeb would tiptoe through the village with his watering can and trowel. His favorite thing to grow was spinach—big, green, leafy spinach that sparkled with morning dew.
One evening, Zeb planted a special packet of seeds he'd found at the old abandoned shop. The package glowed faintly in the dark. "Magical Moonlight Spinach," it read.
Zeb planted the seeds with care, patting the soil gently around them. Within hours, bright green shoots poked through the earth. By midnight, the spinach plants had grown taller than Zeb himself! Their leaves shimmered like emeralds under the stars.
Suddenly, the sky darkened. Storm clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky—but it wasn't scary. The lightning zigzagged toward Zeb's garden and danced around the spinach plants, making them glow even brighter.
Zeb watched in wonder. The magic spinach was attracting the lightning!
But then he noticed something—his plants were trembling. The lightning was too strong. The spinach needed protection.
Zeb knew what to do. He built a little shelter around the garden, using old wooden boards and fallen branches. He stayed up all night guarding his precious plants, singing them soft zombie lullabies.
When morning came, the children of Willow Creek discovered something amazing. The magical spinach had grown the most delicious, glowing vegetables anyone had ever seen. And Zeb had made enough spinach pie for everyone.
From that day on, Zeb was no longer scary. He was the town's beloved gardener. The children would visit him every evening, helping him water the plants and collect spinach that sparkled like tiny stars.
And sometimes, when summer storms rolled in, they would all watch together as the lightning danced above the garden, making the leaves twinkle like nature's own fireworks.
Zeb had learned something important: sometimes the things that seem different or scary can turn out to be the most wonderful friends. And with a little care and courage, even lightning can become something beautiful.
