The Zombie Who Loved Baseball
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he practiced in his backyard, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But his curly hair always got in his eyes, and he kept missing the ball!
One afternoon, Leo's ball rolled into the mysterious garden behind the old house at the end of the street. He crept through the vines and found something amazing — a friendly zombie named Zigmund!
Zigmund wasn't scary at all. He wore a faded baseball cap and held a shiny baseball. "I've been waiting for someone to play with," Zigmund said with a grin. "I invented a special game called Zombie Baseball!"
The rules were magical. Zigmund explained that first, you had to eat enchanted spinach from his garden. "This spinach gives you super powers!" Leo tried a leaf and suddenly felt strong, fast, and ready to run around the bases lightning-fast.
"Now for the hair part," Zigmund said, pulling out a sparkling ribbon. "Tie up your hair so it doesn't block your vision. But this ribbon has magic — it helps you focus!"
Leo tied back his curls with the glowing ribbon. Zigmund pitched the ball, and Leo swung his bat — CRACK! The ball soared through the sky like a shooting star.
"You did it!" Zigmund cheered. "In Zombie Baseball, we never give up, even when things seem impossible. That's the secret!"
Leo visited Zigmund every day that summer. His baseball skills improved, but he learned something more important: true friends come in all shapes and sizes, and with determination (and a little magic), anything is possible.
When school started, Leo became the best player on his team. Sometimes he'd see Zigmund watching from behind the old fence, and he'd wave. The zombie who loved baseball had taught him that courage and friendship are the real superpowers.
