The Zombie Who Loved Baseball

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, he'd grab his glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run.

One stormy evening, as gray clouds gathered overhead, Leo noticed something strange near the old oak tree. A small figure stumbled toward the baseball diamond. It looked greenish and moved slowly, arms stretched forward.

A zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He wore a tattered baseball cap and held a cracked bat.

"Want to play?" Leo called, surprisingly brave.

The zombie nodded slowly.

Just then, CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck the outfield. But instead of being scary, the lightning made the dirt glow like sparkles, and the air smelled like cotton candy.

The zombie's name was Zed, and he told Leo he'd been waiting 100 years to finish the most important game ever. He needed a friend to help him.

Leo tossed the ball. Zed swung his bat—and missed. He tried again, wobbling like a ragdoll. Leo showed him how to stand firm, how to keep his eye on the ball.

"You've got this!" Leo cheered.

Another lightning flash illuminated the field, and suddenly, Zed hit the ball! It soared through the sparkly air, higher and higher, until it disappeared into the magical clouds.

"We did it!" Zed cheered, his green skin turning a warm golden color.

Leo realized something wonderful: sometimes the things that seem scary at first might just need friendship to shine. Zed wasn't a monster—he was just lonely.

"I'll come back every day," Leo promised.

And every stormy evening, when lightning painted the sky, Leo and Zed played baseball, the best friends anyone could ever imagine. Because the best magic isn't lightning bolts or spooky surprises—it's friendship, and it lasts forever.
