The Zombie Who Loved Baseball
Zoe found the old iPhone under the porch steps, covered in spiderwebs but still glowing. Her parents had thrown it away last year, but now it turned on by itself!
A magical app appeared: *Toy Friends Come to Life*. Zoe pressed the button and watched her zombie doll—Zombie Bob—climb out of his toy box. His green plastic skin became soft and real, and his messy black hair started wiggling like excited worms.
"Whoa!" Zoe breathed. "You're alive!"
Zombie Bob blinked his orange eyes. "I've always wanted to be real! What do kids do for fun?"
Zoe grabbed her baseball glove. "We play baseball! Want to learn?"
Bob's messy hair bounced as he nodded eagerly. But when Zoe's friends saw him the next day, they screamed and ran away. "A zombie!" they cried. "Zombies are scary!"
Bob's shoulders drooped. "I'm not scary. I just want to play."
That's when Bob's wild hair started glowing pink. It grew longer and wrapped around the baseball like a magical glove. He threw the ball so hard it created a rainbow across the sky!
"Whoa!" Zoe's friends stopped running. "That was AMAZING!"
Bob smiled shyly. "My hair has special powers when I'm happy."
All afternoon, they played the most magical baseball game ever. Bob's hair helped him catch impossible balls, and the iPhone kept score with sparkly fireworks whenever someone scored. The zombie who had seemed scary became the best player anyone had ever seen.
That night, Zoe whispered to Bob, "I'm glad you came to life."
"Me too," Bob said, his messy hair glowing softly. "Sometimes the scariest things turn out to be the most wonderful friends."
The old iPhone never worked again, but it didn't matter. Zoe and Bob had learned something magical: you should never judge someone by how they look—especially when they might just want to play baseball.
