The Zombie Who Loved Baseball

Leo loved two things more than anything: his baseball glove and his iPhone. Every afternoon, he'd sit in the backyard tapping away at baseball games, imagining himself hitting home runs in magical stadiums.

One sunny day, while Leo was running laps around the baseball diamond, something strange happened. His iPhone began to glow with a shimmering green light! When he tapped the screen, a little zombie popped out—tiny, green, and wearing a miniature baseball cap!

"Hello!" said the zombie, whose name was Zippy. "I've been trapped in that video game for 100 years! I used to be the greatest baseball player ever!"

Leo's eyes widened. "You played baseball?"

"I was the Zombie League Champion!" Zippy exclaimed sadly. "But I got stuck inside your phone when a wizard cast a spell. All I want is one more game."

Leo's heart swelled with kindness. He grabbed his glove and baseball. "Let's play! My friends will be so amazed!"

They played until sunset—Zippy was amazing! He could catch any ball, even the ones that flew way over Leo's head. Other zombies peeked out from the iPhone to watch, cheering and clapping their green hands.

"Thank you, Leo," Zippy said as the sun began to set. "Your friendship broke the spell!" He hugged Leo's glove and dissolved into sparkling green dust, leaving behind a tiny baseball charm.

Leo wore that charm on his necklace every game. He learned that kindness could break any spell—even ones trapping zombie baseball players inside iPhones—and that the best teammates come in the most surprising packages.
