The Zombie Who Loved Baseball
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he'd grab his glove and practice in the backyard. But today, something strange happened. A shiny silver cable descended from the clouds, right into Leo's yard!
Leo pulled the cable, and up floated a curious creature. It looked like a zombie – green skin, messy hair – but instead of groaning, it smiled and held out a baseball glove.
"I'm Zemble!" the zombie said cheerfully. "I live in the Cloud Kingdom above, and we've watched you play. Want to play the most magical baseball game ever?"
Leo grabbed the cable, and WHOOSH! They zoomed up into the sky.
The Cloud Kingdom was amazing – fields made of cotton candy, rivers of lemonade, and baseball diamonds floating on fluffy white clouds. But the other zombies looked sad. They sat alone while cloud-children played.
"They think we're scary because we're green," Zemble whispered. "But we're just lonely."
Leo had an idea. "Hey everyone! Zemble and I are starting a baseball game. Who wants to play?"
At first, the cloud-children hesitated. But when Zemble hit a home run that turned into sparkling butterflies, everyone cheered! Soon, zombies and cloud-children played together, laughing and having fun.
The zombie baseball was magical – when you caught a ball, it made music! When you ran bases, you left trails of rainbows!
That evening, Leo rode the cable back home, his heart full. He'd learned something important: sometimes, the scariest-looking creatures just need someone to give them a chance.
Every night, the magical cable appears, and Leo returns to the Cloud Kingdom. Now the zombies aren't lonely anymore – they're the best baseball players in the sky!
And Leo? He's the happiest kid in two worlds, with friends in both.
