The Zombie Who Loved Baseball
Max loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he would grab his favorite glove and head to the park. But one cloudy afternoon, something magical happened.
As Max was pitching against his imaginary batter, a baseball suddenly rolled out from behind the old oak tree. It glowed with a soft green light!
"Wow!" Max whispered.
Then he heard a soft groan. Out stepped a small, green figure. It looked like a zombie, but not a scary one. This zombie wore a tiny baseball cap and held a miniature bat.
"Hi," said the zombie shyly. "I'm Zed. I've been watching you play. You're really good!"
Max wasn't scared at all. "You want to play baseball?"
Zed's eyes lit up. "Yes! But I've never played before. Will you teach me?"
Max smiled. "Of course! First, you need to know how to catch."
For hours, Max taught Zed how to throw, catch, and hit. Zed was a quick learner! They laughed and played until the sun began to set.
"I wish I could show my friends," Max said. "But they'd never believe me."
Zed pulled out an old iPhone from his pocket. "This belonged to the last kid who visited the magical tree. It still works! Let's take a picture of us together."
They snapped a selfie, Max and his new zombie friend, both covered in dirt and grinning ear to ear.
"I have to go now," Zed said as the moon appeared. "But I'll come back tomorrow! Same time?"
"Definitely!" Max hugged his new friend.
Max learned something important that day: sometimes the most unexpected friends can become the best ones. And with imagination and an open heart, even a zombie can love baseball just as much as you do.
The next day, Max couldn't wait to get back to the park. Baseball had never been so magical!
