The Zombie Who Loved Baseball

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he'd grab his glove and run to the backyard to practice. But he didn't have anyone to play with - just his old zombie doll, Zed, who sat propped against the big palm tree watching him.

One afternoon, something strange fell from the palm tree. It wasn't a coconut - it was a glowing purple vitamin that shimmered like stardust. Leo had never seen anything so magical.

When he touched it to Zed, something incredible happened. The plastic zombie opened his eyes, stretched his green arms, and yawned.

"Finally!" Zed said. "I've been watching you play for years. Want a friend?"

Leo was amazed. His toy was alive! Zed wasn't scary at all - he was just lonely.

"I've been asleep for a hundred years," Zed explained. "I needed a special friendship vitamin to wake up. And now I want to play!"

So they played baseball until sunset. Zed was terrible at first - his arms were stiff from being a doll so long. But Leo taught him how to swing the bat and catch the ball. The zombie laughed every time he missed, and soon the whole neighborhood could hear them having fun.

"You're my best friend," Zed said as the sun went down, his green face glowing with happiness.

"And you're mine," Leo smiled, high-fiving his new friend's cold hand.

That night, Leo realized something important: the best things in life come when you least expect them. Sometimes, even a zombie doll under a palm tree can become the greatest friend you've ever had - all you need is a little magic and an open heart.
