The Zombie Who Lost His Orange

Once upon a time, in the town of Sunnyville, there lived a little zombie named Zomb. But Zomb wasn't scary at all. He had bright green skin, one button eye, and the biggest smile you ever saw. Instead of wanting brains, Zomb loved something very different—he loved oranges!

Every day, Zomb would watch the children play baseball in the park. He'd sit behind the big oak tree, dreaming of joining their game. But whenever he tried to say hello, the children would run away, screaming "It's a zombie!"

One magical afternoon, something wonderful happened. Zomb found the most beautiful orange he had ever seen. It glowed like a tiny sun and smelled sweeter than anything in the world. But just as he was about to take a bite, a playful gust of wind snatched the orange from his hand!

The orange rolled across the grass, bounced over a stone wall, and landed right next to the old cable car track—the one that hadn't been used for fifty years. Zomb chased after it, his feet pattering softly against the ground.

Suddenly, the abandoned cable car began to glow! Out stepped an old man with a long silver beard. "I'm the Keeper of the Cable," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "Your orange has awakened the magic cable car!"

The old man explained that the cable car could grant one special wish to anyone pure of heart. "What do you wish for, little zombie?"

Zomb thought carefully. "I wish the children wouldn't be afraid of me. I just want to play baseball and make friends."

The Keeper smiled and sprinkled glowing orange dust over Zomb. "Your wish shows your kind heart. That is the greatest magic of all."

The next day, when Zomb went to the park, something amazing happened. The children didn't run away. A girl named Sophie waved at him. "Hey! Want to play baseball? We need another player!"

Zomb's heart soared. He joined the game, and even though he sometimes moved a little slowly, he became the best catcher anyone had ever seen. And every day after school, the children would share their oranges with him—the sweetest fruits they could find.

Zomb learned that being different wasn't bad at all. Sometimes, the most unexpected friends turn out to be the best ones. And from that day on, Sunnyville's baseball team became known as the friendliest team in the whole world, with their very own zombie player who taught everyone that kindness matters more than appearances.

The magical cable car still waits behind the stone wall, ready to help anyone with a truly kind heart. And if you listen carefully on sunny afternoons, you might hear Zomb and his friends playing baseball, laughing together, and sharing the sweetest oranges in the world.
