The Zombie Who Learned to Play

In the sleepy town of Willowbrook, where the sun painted the skies pink and gold every evening, there lived a curious zombie named Ziggie. Now, Ziggie wasn't like the zombies in scary stories. He didn't want brains or spooky adventures. He just wanted to belong.

Every day after school, the children gathered at the park for their favorite game – padel, a bouncy, exciting sport similar to tennis but even more fun. Ziggie would watch from behind the old oak tree, his greenish face pressed against the bark. He loved the sound of the ball bouncing and the children's laughter floating through the air like music.

One sunny afternoon, a brave girl named Lily noticed Ziggie watching them. Instead of running away, she waved her padel racquet in the air. "Hey! Want to play?" she called out.

Ziggie was so surprised that he tripped over his own feet, tumbling forward in a clumsy, funny way that made everyone giggle. But Lily didn't laugh. She helped him up and handed him a racquet.

The other children were nervous at first, but Lily said, "Give him a chance. Everyone deserves a friend."

Ziggie tried his best, but he was terrible at padel. His arms were stiff, and he kept missing the ball. Instead of getting frustrated, he started running around the court in silly circles, making the funniest faces. The children couldn't stop laughing – but this time, Ziggie was laughing too.

"Maybe padel isn't your thing," Lily said kindly, "but you're the funniest person I've ever met!"

That's when Ziggie discovered his special gift. While he couldn't hit the ball perfectly, he could entertain everyone with his goofy running and silly expressions. Soon, he became the official cheerleader for every padel game, dancing and jumping on the sidelines.

The children learned something important that day: everyone has different talents, and true friendship means accepting others exactly as they are. Ziggie finally found what he had always wanted – not just a game to play, but a whole team of friends who loved him for being wonderfully, uniquely himself.
