The Zombie Who Learned to Play

Leo was looking for his favorite toy zombie under his bed when he found something strange—a glowing orange cable he'd never seen before. It hummed with magic, wiggling like an excited worm. "What are you?" Leo whispered. The cable wrapped gently around his wrist and tugged, as if saying, "Follow me!"

Curious, Leo held onto his stuffed zombie, Zomby, and let the cable lead him outside. It wound through the garden and pulled him toward the park, where his best friend Mia was waiting. She held a padel racket and grinned. "The magic cable brought you too?"

Zomby, usually floppy and still, suddenly stood up straight. His button eyes sparkled. "I want to play!" he squeaked in a tiny, friendly voice.

Leo and Mia gasped. Their toy zombie had come to life! But Zomby moved stiffly, his arms and legs creaky like rusty hinges. "I need energy," Zomby said sadly. "I'm too tired to play."

Mia's eyes lit up. "My dad gave me these!" She pulled colorful gummy vitamins from her pocket—bright green, orange, and purple shapes that shimmered with extra magic. "Courage vitamin! Energy vitamin! Friendship vitamin!"

Zomby ate the friendship vitamin first. Instantly, his movements became smooth and graceful. He picked up a padel racket and rallied with Mia, laughing as he hit every ball. The magic cable connected the three friends in a glowing triangle, pulsing with warmth.

"I was lonely on your shelf," Zomby admitted. "I waited for someone to notice me."

Leo hugged his zombie friend. "You're not alone anymore. You're part of our team."

They played padel until sunset, the magic cable humming with joy. That night, Leo didn't put Zomby back under the bed. The zombie slept on the pillow, right beside his new best friends, dreaming of tomorrow's adventures.

Sometimes the best friends come to life when you least expect them—and all they need is a little magic, a lot of love, and someone to play with.
