The Zombie Who Learned Baseball
In a cozy little house lived a girl named Lily and her favorite teddy bear named Barnaby. Every day after school, Lily would grab her baseball glove and run to the park, with Barnaby peeking from her backpack.
One sunny afternoon, while Lily was practicing her pitching, she heard something strange: *thump, thump, drag* coming from behind the old oak tree. Being brave and curious, she crept closer to investigate.
To her surprise, she saw a zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He was just a lonely green-skinned boy named Zed, and he was sadly dragging his feet.
"Are you okay?" Lily asked, stepping forward with Barnaby in her arms.
Zed looked up with droopy eyes. "I don't have any energy to play. Everything is hard."
Lily's face lit up. "I know what you need!" She reached into her pocket and pulled out her favorite orange vitamin gummy. "My mom says these give you energy!"
Zed popped the vitamin into his mouth. Suddenly, his green skin started glowing, and he stood up straight! "Wow! I feel... magical!"
"Want to play baseball?" Lily asked, tossing him the ball.
Zed caught it perfectly. "What's baseball?"
"Only the BEST game ever!" Lily laughed. "You hit the ball with a bat and run around the bases!"
For the next hour, Lily taught Zed how to swing the bat, how to catch, and how to run around the bases laughing. Zed turned out to be amazing at baseball! When he hit the ball, it flew over the trees!
Barnaby the bear sat in the grass, watching his new friend become friends with someone unexpected.
"You're not scary at all," Lily said as they sat together, tired but happy. "You're just lonely."
"And now I'm not," Zed grinned, his green skin sparkling. "I have a friend who shares her vitamins and teaches me baseball."
From that day on, every afternoon, Lily and Barnaby would meet Zed at the park for baseball. And Zed learned that sometimes, the best friends come from the most unexpected places — and all it takes is one vitamin, one baseball, and one brave hello.
