The Zombie Who Just Wanted Friends

In a cozy little house at the end of Maple Street lived a girl named Lily. She had two very special pets: a brave golden dog named Sunny and a curious orange cat named Whiskers. Every afternoon, they would play in the garden together.

One day, Lily's mom brought home a small glass bowl with a beautiful goldfish inside. "His name is Bubbles," she said with a smile. Lily placed the bowl on her windowsill, where the sunlight made his orange scales sparkle like tiny jewels.

That night, when the moon was high and bright, Lily heard a soft knock at her window. She opened it carefully and gasped! Standing there was a zombie—a small, green one with patchy clothes and messy hair.

But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He had big, sad eyes and held out a wilting flower. His name was Zed, and he lived in the old treehouse in the woods. Nobody wanted to play with him because he looked different.

Sunny the dog wagged his tail and gave Zed a friendly lick. Whiskers the cat purred and rubbed against his leg. Even Bubbles the goldfish swam excitedly to the side of his bowl when Zed came near.

Lily smiled. "Would you like to play with us?"

Zed's face lit up like a lantern. For the first time ever, he had friends! They played tag until the stars came out, and Zed realized something wonderful: his green skin and patchy clothes didn't matter. What mattered was kindness and friendship.

From that day on, Zed came to play every evening. The dog, the cat, the goldfish, and the zombie became the best of friends. And Lily learned the most important lesson of all: true friends look with their hearts, not their eyes.
