The Zombie Who Forgot How to Dance
Zara was a zombie unlike any other. While other zombies lumbered through the graveyard saying 'brains,' Zara loved cherry ice cream and collecting shiny rocks. But there was one thing Zara couldn't do—dance.
Every full moon, the graveyard came alive with music. Ghosts spun like shimmering ribbons. Skeletons clicked their bones in perfect rhythm. Even the grumpy gargoyles tapped their stone feet. But Zara just stood there, her stiff legs refusing to move.
One stormy night, as lightning painted the sky in brilliant streaks of purple and gold, a tiny firefly named Pip landed on Zara's shoulder.
'You're not really a zombie, are you?' Pip asked, his glow warm and friendly. 'Real zombies love to dance!'
Zara sniffled. 'I've forgotten how. My legs feel like frozen tree trunks.'
Pip buzzed thoughtfully. 'I know what you need! My grandmother told me about the magic vitamin—the Vitamin of ZOOM! It's hidden in the oldest pumpkin patch, buried where the lightning strikes three times in one spot.'
Running faster than she'd ever moved before, Zara followed Pip through the howling wind. Lightning cracked overhead, illuminating their path. They found the pumpkin patch just as another bolt struck—for the third time!
There, glowing in the dirt, was a small orange bottle. Zara took one Vitamin of ZOOM, and suddenly her toes wiggled. Her knees bent. Her arms swayed.
'Dance with me!' Pip cheered.
And Zara did. She twirled and jumped, spun and leaped, all the way back to the graveyard. When the other zombies saw her, they were amazed. Zara taught them all her special dance, and from that night on, nobody forgot that sometimes, the best magic comes from believing in yourself—and having good friends who remind you who you really are.
Moral: Even zombies need friends who help them remember their true selves.
