The Zombie Who Forgot How to Dance

Lily was running through the attic when she found something extraordinary: a dusty old television set with a thick cable coiled like a sleeping snake beside it. The cable shimmered with rainbow colors in the afternoon sun.

"What are you doing here?" Lily whispered. She gave the cable a gentle tug, and suddenly—POOF!—the television flickered to life.

Out popped a little green zombie named Zingo. But Zingo wasn't scary at all. He wore polka-dot pajamas and had a smile as wide as a watermelon.

"Hello!" Zingo cheered, though his movements were stiff and rusty, like an old robot needing oil. "I've been stuck in there for fifty years! I forgot how to dance!"

Lily's eyes sparkled. She loved dancing more than anything. "I can teach you! But first, you need something special."

She rummaged through her grandmother's old vitamin jar, which she'd transformed into a treasure box. Inside glowed something magical: sunshine vitamins, made from real golden rays caught in jars.

"These will give you energy," Lily explained, handing Zingo one glowing tablet.

Zingo swallowed it, and instantly his stiff joints began to wiggle. His toes tapped. His arms swished. But something was still wrong.

"I can't remember the dancing feeling," Zingo said sadly.

Lily had an idea. She connected the magical cable to Zingo's hand and her portable music player. When the music started, the cable pulsed with light, sending rhythm straight into Zingo's feet.

"Dance like nobody's watching!" Lily called out.

Zingo spun, jumped, and wiggled. He did the robot, the twist, and a move he called the "zombie bounce." Lily joined in, laughing so hard her stomach hurt.

"You're dancing!" Lily cheered. "You're really dancing!"

Zingo beamed. "Because you believed in me. That's the best vitamin of all—friendship."

From that day on, Zingo lived in Lily's room, and they danced every afternoon. And whenever someone asked why her zombie friend was so happy, Lily would smile and say, "Because sometimes, the best magic comes from the most unexpected places. All you need is someone who believes in you."
