The Zombie Who Forgot How to Dance

Lila was running through the Enchanted Forest, her golden curls bouncing like sunshine on leaves. She loved exploring! Today she heard soft music coming from Whispering Creek, so she followed the melody, curious as a kitten.

There, sitting on a mossy rock by the water, was a zombie. But this wasn't a scary zombie like in stories. This zombie had bright purple hair tied in rainbow ribbons and wore polka-dot pajamas. He looked sad.

"I'm Zimby," he sniffled, "and I forgot how to dance."

Lila's eyes widened. "You can dance?"

"I used to be the best dancer in all of Zing-Zong Valley!" Zimby said. "But I haven't had magical water from Moonlight Pond in seven years. Now I'm all creaky and slow."

Lila gasped. Moonlight Pond! She knew exactly where it was. "Come with me!"

Together they walked—Lila skipping and Zimby shuffling—up Sparkle Mountain to the shimmering pond. The water there glowed with tiny rainbow sparkles.

"Drink," Lila urged.

Zimby cupped his hands and sipped. Suddenly, his purple hair began to wiggle. His polka dots started spinning. Then—WHOOSH!—he leaped into the air, twirling like a tornado of ribbons!

"Thank you!" Zimby cheered, landing in a perfect bow. "Friends who help each other are the greatest magic of all!"

Lila smiled, understanding something wonderful: kindness can unlock joy in the most unexpected places. And sometimes, the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend—and a little magical water—to remember their true sparkle.
