The Zombie Who Forgot His Vitamins
Lily discovered something magical behind the old oak tree in her backyard—a tiny door no bigger than her thumb, glowing with rainbow light. When she crawled through, she found herself in the Crystal Forest, where trees hummed soft songs and butterflies left sparkly trails.
That's when she saw him—a zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He shambled slowly, bumping into trees, his eyes cloudy and confused. Leaves stuck to his green jacket, and his shoes were on the wrong feet.
"Are you okay?" Lily called, running toward him with her backpack bouncing. The zombie looked up and mumbled something that sounded like bubble wrap popping.
His name was Zed, and he had a big problem: the Forgetful Fog had made him forget everything—even how to be a proper zombie! He couldn't remember where he lived, what he liked to eat, or why his shoes didn't match.
But Lily had an idea. Her mom was a scientist who studied healthy foods. "Maybe you need vitamins!" she exclaimed, digging into her backpack. She pulled out an orange bottle—Vitamin Z!
Zed took the vitamin, and something amazing happened. His eyes cleared like sunshine breaking through clouds. "I remember!" he cheered, doing a happy little wiggle. "I'm not a zombie—I'm Zeddy, the gnome gardener! The fog made me all foggy too!"
The forest wasn't enchanted by magic—it was enchanted by friendship. Zeddy showed Lily his secret garden, where flowers changed color when you laughed and vegetables grew in perfect shapes. They spent the afternoon running through rainbow fields, playing tag with friendly squirrels, and planting seeds that bloomed instantly.
"Everyone needs something special to feel their best," Zeddy said, giving Lily a magical flower that never wilted. "Even gnomes need their vitamins."
Lily crawled back through her tiny door as the sun set, her pocket full of magical seeds and her heart full of new friendship. Sometimes the scariest things just need a little help—and maybe a vitamin or two—to become something wonderful.
