The Zombie Who Forgot His Vitamin

Lily loved exploring behind her house, especially near the old palm tree that swayed in the breeze like a dancing giant. One sunny afternoon, she spotted something strange — a mysterious cable poking out from the sand beneath the palm tree's shadow.

Curious, Lily gave the cable a gentle tug. Suddenly, the ground began to rumble! Up popped a friendly green fellow with messy hair and a crooked smile. It was Zed, and he was a zombie!

But Zed wasn't scary at all. In fact, he was running frantically in circles, looking quite worried.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked kindly.

"I forgot my morning vitamin!" Zed cried. "Without it, I can't play zombie games properly. I need it to be my best, bumbling, silly self!"

Lily giggled. Zed was the most lovable zombie she'd ever imagined. His skin was soft like moss, and his eyes twinkled like stars.

"Where did you last see it?" she asked.

Zed thought hard. "I was running through the magical garden, past the talking flowers, and over the giggling brook... Oh! I stopped right here at this beautiful palm tree to tie my shoe!"

Together, Lily and Zed searched around the palm tree's roots. Lily pushed aside some leaves and there it was — a bright orange vitamin that glowed like a tiny sun!

"You found it!" Zed cheered, doing a little happy dance. "Thank you, Lily! Now I can play properly again."

"Can I play too?" Lily asked.

"Of course!" Zed beamed. "The best adventures are always better with friends."

And that's how Lily made the most unusual friend ever. She learned that sometimes the scariest-looking things can turn out to be the kindest, and that a little help from a friend can make any problem disappear. Every day after school, Lily would visit Zed under the palm tree, and they'd have wonderful adventures together — running, playing, and always remembering the most important thing: friendship is the best vitamin of all.
