The Zombie Who Couldn't Scare

In the heart of the Whispering Woods lived Zombilina, the most unusual zombie you'd ever meet. Unlike other zombies who stumbled around saying "Brains!" all day, Zombilina had bright orange hair that bounced when she walked and loved to pick wildflowers. The other zombies made fun of her. "A zombie should be scary!" they grumbled. Zombilina tried her best to look frightening, but she always ended up smiling instead.

One sunny afternoon, while Zombilina was practicing her scary faces in a puddle, a clever little fox with ears as pointy as pine needles popped out from behind a bush. "You're doing it all wrong," the fox said. "I'm Felix! What's your name?" Zombilina explained her problem, and Felix's tail twitched with excitement. "I know who can help! My friend, the Great Goldfish of Golden Pond!"

The goldfish, whose scales shimmered like tiny suns, swam to the surface and listened kindly. "True magic comes from your heart, not from how scary you look," she bubbled. "What makes you happiest?" Zombilina thought hard. "I love making friends laugh!" The goldfish smiled. "Then that's your gift!"

Suddenly, they heard cheerful shouts from the nearby meadow. Children were playing padel, laughing and hitting a ball back and forth. But something was wrong – one little girl sat alone on the bench, her shoulders slumped. Zombilina's heart went out to her.

With Felix and the goldfish cheering her on, Zombilina marched to the meadow. Instead of trying to scare anyone, she did something silly – she wiggled her ears, crossed her eyes, and did a funny little dance that made her bright orange hair bounce everywhere. The lonely girl giggled. Then everyone giggled. Soon, the whole meadow was laughing, and the girl joined the game, smiling brighter than the sun.

Zombilina finally understood: she wasn't a failure as a zombie. She was something much better – a friend-bringer. And that was the most magical power of all.
