The Zombie Who Couldn't Scare
In a cozy bedroom filled with glowing stars on the ceiling, seven-year-old Lily discovered something amazing. Her dad's old iPhone, which she used for playing games, suddenly began to flicker with a mysterious purple light.
"What's happening?" she whispered, clutching her stuffed cat, Mr. Whiskers, tight.
To her astonishment, a tiny zombie climbed out of the iPhone screen! He was only three inches tall, with green skin and tattered clothes, but instead of being scary, he looked terribly sad.
"Hello there," Lily said bravely.
The zombie sighed. "I'm Zibble, and I'm the worst zombie ever. I can't scare anyone! I tried to scare a mouse yesterday, but it just wanted to share cheese with me."
Mr. Whiskers, who was actually a magical cat, suddenly woke up and stretched. "Maybe being scary isn't the most important thing," the cat purred wisely.
Lily's eyes grew wide with an idea. "Zibble, what if you used your zombie powers for good instead? Like helping people?"
"But zombies are supposed to be scary," Zibble protested, though his eyes twinkled with hope.
"Not necessarily," Lily said, pulling out her art supplies. "Let's see what you can really do!"
What happened next was magical. Zibble discovered that by walking through walls, he could retrieve lost toys. His zombie strength helped carry heavy groceries for Mrs. Higgins down the street. His green glow made beautiful nightlights for children afraid of the dark.
Soon, kids from all over the neighborhood visited Lily's room to meet their new friend. The iPhone became Zibble's doorway between worlds, and Mr. Whiskers became his guide to the human world.
One evening, as Zibble prepared to return home, he hugged Lily tight. "Thank you for helping me find my true purpose. I thought being a zombie meant being scary, but it really means being special in my own way."
"Everyone has unique gifts," Mr. Whiskers purred. "The secret is finding how to use them to help others."
That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile, knowing that sometimes the most unexpected friends teach us the most important lessons. And somewhere in the zombie world, Zibble was teaching other zombies that kindness is stronger than scariness any day.
