The Zombie's Wild Hair Day
Lily loved exploring the beach, especially near the old palm tree that looked like it was leaning over to tell secrets. One sunny afternoon, she noticed something strange hiding behind the palm trunk.
It had greenish skin and the wildest, messiest hair she had ever seen - sticking up like seaweed in a storm! Lily almost ran away, but then she heard a sniffle.
"Hello?" she called out softly.
The thing peeked out. "I... I'm a zombie," it said in a wobbly voice. "But I'm not scary. I'm just really lonely. And my hair is impossible to comb!"
Lily giggled. The zombie's hair was definitely wild - sticking out in every direction like it had a mind of its own.
"I'm Lily! Want to play padel?" she asked, holding up her racquet. "My friend is sick today, so I need someone to hit the ball with."
The zombie's eyes lit up. "I LOVE padel! But nobody ever wants to play with... well, with a zombie."
"That's silly!" Lily said. "Come on!"
They played for hours, laughing as the zombie's wild hair bounced with every hit. Lily discovered that zombies make the BEST friends - they never got tired, and his funny hair made her giggle until her sides hurt.
"You're my best friend," Lily said as the sun began to set.
"And you're mine," the zombie smiled. "Thanks for seeing ME, not just a zombie."
Lily learned that day that the best friends sometimes look different than you expect - and that a little wild hair just makes life more fun!
