The Zombie's Sunny Surprise

In a cheerful garden lived Zom-Bob, a friendly zombie with green skin and an even greener thumb. Unlike the scary stories children heard, Zom-Bob didn't want brains. He wanted to grow the perfect orange.

Every morning, Zom-Bob watered his little orange tree with special care. His bumpy gray fingers gently patted the soil. "Grow big and sweet," he would hum in his rusty voice. The orange tree loved him back, producing the juiciest, brightest oranges anyone had ever tasted.

The village children weren't scared of Zom-Bob. They loved visiting his garden! Maria, Leo, and tiny Sam would come every day after school. Zom-Bob always saved his biggest, orange-est orange for them.

One sunny afternoon, a large brown bear lumbered into the garden. Bruno the Bear had traveled from the mountains, following the delicious smell of ripe oranges.

"May I have one?" Bruno asked politely.

Zom-Bob nodded and handed him the perfect orange he'd been saving. Bruno's eyes lit up as he took the first bite. Juice dribbled down his fuzzy chin.

"This is wonderful!" Bruno cheered. "May I stay and help?"

So Zom-Bob, Bruno, and the children became the best of friends. They spent happy days under the swaying palm tree at the edge of the garden, sharing stories and oranges.

The grown-ups in the village were surprised. "A zombie and a bear, being friends with children?" they whispered.

But the children knew something important: Zom-Bob taught them that being different doesn't mean being scary. Kindness matters more than how you look. And sometimes the best friends come in the most unexpected packages—or in this case, as a zombie gardener with a heart of gold.

Every sunset, Zom-Bob would sit under his palm tree, watching his friends laugh and eat oranges together. His green face would smile, because he knew he had found something even better than the perfect orange. He had found true friendship.

And that, dear children, is the sweetest thing of all.
