The Zombie's Secret Wish
Zink was not like other toys. He was a small, green zombie with one eye that always looked up at the stars, and a stitched smile that never faded. Most zombies were scary, but Zink just wanted someone to play with.
Every night, Zink would come alive when the moon peeked through Maya's window. Maya was a curious girl who loved to spy on magical things from behind her curtains. One night, she saw Zink dancing on her pillow!
"Are you real?" Maya whispered, her eyes wide with wonder.
Zink nodded shyly. "I only come alive at night. But I wish I could see the sun."
The next day, Maya remembered something special. Her grandmother had given her a small, glowing vitamin from the Magic Garden. "This vitamin makes wishes come true," Grandma had said. "But use it wisely."
That night, Maya showed Zink the magic vitamin. "I saved this for you!"
Zink's one eye sparkled. Together, they tiptoed to the garden and found the Wishing Water — a small pool that reflected the moon like liquid silver. Zink dropped the vitamin into the water with a soft splash.
Suddenly, the water began to glow! Sparkles floated up like tiny fireflies, and Zink started to change. His green skin became warm, his heart began to beat, and for the first time, he felt the cool night breeze on his face.
"I'm real!" Zink cried, spinning around with joy.
Maya hugged her new friend. "Now we can have adventures together!"
From that night on, Zink no longer needed the moon to be alive. He and Maya became the best of friends, having magical adventures every day. And whenever they visited the Wishing Water, they left a thank-you gift — a flower, a shiny stone, or sometimes just a wish for someone else's dream to come true.
Because the best magic is not just making your own wishes come true, but helping others find their happiness too.
