The Zombie's Secret Heart
Lily loved her garden, especially the strange pumpkin patch. One afternoon, she noticed something odd. The little pumpkin she'd planted weeks ago—thought dead—was suddenly green again!
"A zombie plant!" whispered her friend Tommy. "It came back from being all dried up!"
But when they looked closer, they saw something magical. The pumpkin wasn't just growing—it was glowing softly, like it held a tiny star inside.
Above them, clouds gathered in an amazing shape. A great bull made of white fluff trotted across the sky, its horns shining like silver. The Cloud Bull lowered its head and rained down sparkling drops—not ordinary rain, but something that smelled like sunshine and strawberries.
"Magic water," Lily gasped, holding out her hands. The drops felt warm and made her tingle all over, like bubble bath for her soul.
The zombie plant drank the sky-water and bloomed instantly. Orange flowers opened, revealing not pumpkins, but tiny glowing fruits. A friendly squirrel appeared and nibbled one, then did a happy backflip.
"Those aren't fruits," said Tommy's wise grandmother, who'd come to see what they were squealing about. "Those are courage-vitamins from the Cloud Bull's garden. They only grow when kindness wakes them up."
Lily understood. The plant hadn't been dead at all—just lonely. Once she'd visited it every day, talked to it, and believed in it, it had found the strength to grow again.
"Everything needs love to wake up," Lily said, sharing the glowing fruits with all her friends. Even grumpy old Mr. Henderson next door smiled after eating one.
The zombie plant became the most beautiful thing in the garden, and the Cloud Bull visited often, bringing its magical rain. And Lily learned that sometimes, things aren't gone forever—they're just waiting for someone to believe in them again.
The end.
